Statement of Faith

We believe that there is only one true God who exists eternally in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - and that these, being one God, are equal in deity, power and glory.  We believe that God not only created the world but also now upholds and sustains it.  He is distinct and separate from his creation.

We believe that Jesus Christ is God incarnate (came in the flesh), fully God and fully man; that he was conceived and born of a virgin, lived a sinless life and offered himself as a penal, substitutionary sacrifice for sinners.  By his blood shed on the cross, we have forgiveness of sins.  He was raised bodily on the third day and ascended to the right hand of the Father, where he is our high priest and advocate.

Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.  We believe that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and that no-one comes to the Father except through him.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, who was sent by Jesus to the world after he had ascended to heaven.  He came to glorify Jesus during this age and to convict men of sin.  Through conversion and regeneration men are born again.  The Holy Spirit then indwells, guides, empowers, anoints and instructs them for godly living and service and in order to fulfil their witness, calling, ministry and mission.

We believe that Jesus baptises believers in the Holy Spirit, sealing them for the day of redemption.  We also believe that miracles, signs and wonders, as well as all the gifts of the Spirit described in the New Testament, are operative today and are designed to testify to the presence of the Kingdom of God and to empower and edify the Church.

We believe the Bible in its entirety is the inspired word of God and given to mankind as the supreme authority on all matters of faith and establishes the way we are to live our lives.  We believe it can be understood by everyone.

We believe that the Church is made up of everyone who has been born again into God’s Kingdom by trusting in Jesus’ redeeming sacrifice on the cross.  The Church is the Bride of Christ, eagerly awaiting his return as her Bridegroom King.

We believe that water baptism and the Lord's Supper are the two ordinances of the Church to be observed until the time of Jesus’ return.  They are not a means of salvation, but are channels of God's sanctifying grace and blessing.

We believe in the literal, visible, tangible, bodily return of Jesus.  At his second coming he will consummate his Millennial Kingdom, centred in Jerusalem.

We believe that right from the beginning the Israelites have been God’s chosen people, and instrumental in his salvation plan.  The land of Israel, promised to Abraham, lost for centuries but now re-established, will host the most momentous events in our world’s history.

We believe that Satan, originally the great and good angel Lucifer, rebelled against God, taking a multitude of angels with him.  He was cast out of God's presence and is at work with his demonic hosts to establish his counter-kingdom of darkness, evil, and unrest on earth.

We believe that there is only one true God who exists eternally in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - and that these, being one God, are equal in deity, power and glory.  We believe that God not only created the world but also now upholds and sustains it.  He is distinct and separate from his creation . . .
